Cold water isn't just about protecting colour — it also keeps the brim's shape-retaining structure (wire, stiffened fabric, or a moulded peak, depending on the style) from softening or warping the way hot water can cause.

Drying Without Losing Their Shape

Hats go through drying the same way we treat other delicates — we don't tumble them loose in with everything else. Instead, they're air dried or laid out flat so the brim keeps its form, and each hat comes back ready to wear rather than crushed out of shape.
